Requirements and Setup

No additional API keys required for basic use. The tool uses NordicPulse's existing infrastructure:

Bing Webmaster Tools Connection (Recommended)

Connect Bing Webmaster Tools via Settings > Integrations to unlock:

See Bing WMT Setup Guide for connection instructions.

Without WMT connection: The tool uses AI to predict grounding queries and checks positions via Serper. You still get the full analysis — just without real Bing traffic numbers.

What Does Bing Grounding Tracker Do?

Microsoft Copilot uses the Bing index as a grounding source for AI-generated answers. When a user asks Copilot a question, it fetches information from indexed web pages to generate the answer.

Bing Grounding Tracker lets you check if your content is used as a source:

Why Does This Matter?

Copilot is integrated into:

This means hundreds of millions of potential users who may (or may not) see your content in AI answers.

How to Use the Tool

Step 1: Enter Domain, Brand and Keywords

  1. Domain (required) — enter your domain (e.g. example.com)
  2. Brand name (required) — your company or product name
  3. Top keywords (optional) — up to 10 keywords, one per line. AI uses these to generate realistic grounding queries

Step 2: Run Tracking Analysis

Click "Track grounding queries" and wait ~20-30 seconds. The tool:

  1. Fetches real Bing WMT data (if connected) — in parallel with query generation
  2. Generates 12-15 grounding queries — AI predicts what AI systems would search for
  3. Checks actual position for each query via Serper (up to 8 in parallel)
  4. Enriches with real data — WMT positions replace estimates where matching data exists
  5. Analyzes gaps and opportunities — Gemini evaluates content gaps, priority and tips per query

Step 3: Read the Report

FAQ

What's the difference between grounding and regular Bing SEO? Traditional SEO is about organic search results. Grounding is about being used as a source in AI-generated answers — invisible to regular search results but critical for AI visibility.

Do I need Bing Webmaster Tools? No, but it's strongly recommended. Without WMT the tool works with AI simulation and Serper. With WMT you get real Bing data: impressions, clicks, positions and top queries — much more precise.

How do I connect Bing Webmaster Tools? Go to Settings > Integrations and click "Connect" on the Bing Webmaster Tools card. You'll be redirected to Bing for authorization. See Bing WMT Setup Guide for details.

What happens if the WMT connection expires? Access tokens last 1 hour. NordicPulse renews them automatically using the refresh token. If something fails, reconnect via Settings.

Do I need to connect any API? No. Everything goes through NordicPulse's existing infrastructure (Gemini + Serper). The WMT connection is optional and provides extra data.

How often should I run tracking? Monthly is sufficient for most. Weekly if you're actively optimizing for Copilot.

Can I send results to other pipeline tools? Yes! After analysis, you can send data directly to Content Brief, GSC AI Analyzer, PAA Autopilot or AEO Watchtower via the buttons in the "Next step" section.

What does "Real data" vs. estimated mean? When you see the green pulsing dot and "Bing Webmaster Tools — Real Data", the numbers are fetched directly from Bing's API. Without WMT the tool uses Serper for position data (which is Google-based, not Bing).
