Competitor Analysis Basic
Competitor Analysis Basic gives a quick comparison of your domain against one competitor: scores for both, strengths and weaknesses, content gaps, quick wins for this week and longer-term strategic actions.
This is an AI judgment from the model's knowledge of the domains, labeled as AI analysis in the app. No crawling, no backlink or search data is fetched. That makes the tool fast and cheap, and it also means it works as a starting point and hypothesis, not as documentation. If you need measured data, Competitor Radar is the live alternative.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants a structured first impression of the competitive picture in five minutes, for example before a client meeting or as the start of a deeper analysis.
Prerequisites
- Available from Scout (the free tier)
- 5 credits per comparison
- Two domains

- Optionally set the industry; it sharpens the assessment.
- Run. Credits are refunded automatically if the analysis fails.
Reading the results
- The score bars give the overall impression. The numbers are the model's judgment on a 0 to 100 scale; the distance between you is more informative than the absolute values.
- The SWOT grid shows strengths and weaknesses for both, with severity. Your high-severity weaknesses are natural starting points.
- The content gaps show topics the competitor covers that you lack, with priority.
- Quick wins are meant to be doable this week; the strategic actions are long-term.
Results are not saved; copy what you want to keep.
Common problems
- "Could not parse the AI response": try again; failed runs are refunded automatically.
- The assessment doesn't know the domain: small or new domains are assessed on general grounds. The industry field matters extra then.
Limitations
- One competitor per run.
- No live data; well-known domains are assessed more reliably than unknown ones.
