Homepage Validator
Homepage Validator checks a classic scaling trap in local SEO: a homepage locked to one city. The tool fetches the actual title and main heading from your site, looks for city names in them, and delivers a verdict: safe, warning or critical, with a risk score. If the title says "Plumber in Oslo" while you plan to grow into Bergen and Trondheim, you get it in writing, along with a hub structure suggestion that scales.
The fetch is real (it is your actual page being read), and the assessment is a fixed rule set, not AI. The same page gives the same verdict every time.
Who it's for
Local businesses planning to expand into more cities, and their agencies, before more is built on a homepage that locks the brand to one place.
Prerequisites
- Logged-in account with enough credits
- 10 credits per check
- The homepage URL, plus the cities you want to grow into (at least one)
Step by step
- Enter the homepage URL.
- Add your target cities as chips.
- Run the check.
Reading the results
- The verdict with risk score: critical means the title or main heading is city-locked and should be restructured before you scale.
- The fetched title and H1 are shown as they actually appear on the page; this is what search engines see.
- Detected cities are the city names the tool found in the title and heading.
- The structure suggestion shows the hub model: a neutral homepage with dedicated city pages beneath it.
Results are not saved; note the verdict before leaving the page.
Common problems
- The check fails: the page could not be fetched (down, blocked or wrong URL). Credits are refunded automatically; check the address and try again.
- A city was not detected: recognition covers the ten largest Norwegian cities. Smaller places and foreign cities are not caught, so review the title manually in those cases.
Limitations
- Only the title and main heading are assessed, not the rest of the page.
- City recognition is limited to ten major Norwegian cities; the target cities you enter are used to gauge scope, not for the detection itself.
- The recommendation list is general for the problem class, not tailored per page.
- No export button.
