Journalist Network

Journalist Network is a shared database of Nordic journalists and newsrooms, built from actual RSS feeds and sitemaps plus contributions from users. You search by beat, country and outlet type, track your pitches and coverage, and can generate a pitch draft with AI. Contributing new journalists or verifications earns you credits.

The journalist entries are real data from real sources, and trust scores and response rates are computed from actual pitch outcomes in the system. The pitch draft itself is AI-generated, and in the current version it is generic: it adapts to your brand and news hook, not to the individual journalist's coverage history. Plan to personalize the opening yourself before sending.

Prerequisites

• Logged-in account
• Search, catalog, pitch log and statistics are free; the AI pitch draft costs 20 credits
• For pitch drafts: brand name and news hook

Step by step

1. Search the catalog with free text and filters (country, outlet type, beat, verified only).
2. Optionally generate a pitch draft: fill in brand, news hook and pitch type.
3. Personalize the draft, especially the opening, and send from your own email.
4. Log the pitch and later the coverage in the tool; that is how the response rates in the base improve.
5. Consider contributing new journalists or verifications; rewards have a daily cap.

Reading the results

• Trust score and response rate per journalist build on logged outcomes in the system; thin data gives uncertain numbers early on.
• The AI score on the pitch draft is the model's own assessment of the draft; use it as direction.
• The statistics tab shows your pitch funnel: sent, answered, coverage.

Common problems

• "Journalist already exists": the same name and outlet is already registered; verify the existing entry instead.
• Pitch generation fails: credits are refunded automatically. Try again with a clearer news hook.

Limitations

• Journalists you add become shared, public data in the base that all users can look up.
• The pitch draft does not reference the journalist's actual work in the current version; you add that yourself.
• The tool sends no email; outreach happens outside the platform.
