Programmatic SEO Uniqueness Checker — User Guide
What is Programmatic SEO Uniqueness Checker?
Programmatic SEO Uniqueness Checker analyzes template-based pages (product listings, location pages, category pages) to find duplicate and thin content issues. AI search engines deprioritize pages with too much shared content.
How to use the tool
Step 1: Enter URLs
Enter at least 2 and up to 10 URLs from the same template type, one per line. E.g. product pages, location pages, or category pages.
Step 2: Choose report language
Select Norwegian or English for AI-generated insights.
Step 3: Run the analysis
Click "Check uniqueness" (25 credits). The tool fetches pages, strips boilerplate, and calculates similarity.
Understanding the report
Uniqueness Score (0-100)
- 75-100: Excellent — pages have plenty of unique content
- 50-74: Good — reasonable uniqueness but room for improvement
- 25-49: Needs improvement — too much shared content
- 0-24: Poor — pages are nearly identical
Per-page table
- Words: Word count after boilerplate removal
- Uniqueness: Page-specific uniqueness score (0-100)
- Avg similarity: Average similarity with all other pages
- Unique words: Percentage of words found only on this page
- Thin: Flagged if under 200 words
Most similar page pairs
Shows the 8 most similar page pairs with percentage similarity. Pairs above 70% are flagged as high duplication.
How similarity is calculated
The tool uses shingle-based Jaccard coefficient:
- Content is split into overlapping 3-word sequences (shingles)
- Jaccard similarity = shared shingles / total unique shingles
- Boilerplate (nav, footer, sidebar) is removed before calculation
