Reddit Competitor Spy
Reddit Competitor Spy fetches the discussions where your competitors are mentioned on Reddit — including the complaints. You provide competitor names and get the threads tagged per competitor, plus key phrases from the discussions enriched with DataForSEO numbers.
The threads are real Reddit data. The complaint tagging is a simple word heuristic (threads with complaint language are marked negative), not sentiment analysis — read the threads yourself before citing them in sales arguments. As of 2026-08-06 no credits are charged for use, even though the catalog prices the tool at 30.
Who this tool is for
Anyone who wants to know what the market actually says about competitors — the weaknesses people complain about are your positioning opportunities.
Prerequisites
- Signed-in account (growth tier in the catalog)
- No credits are charged today
- One or more competitor names; your own domain optional
How to use it
- Enter the competitor names (one per field) and optionally your own domain.
- Run the search — threads are prefixed with which competitor they concern.
- Read the complaint threads thoroughly; that is where the positioning angles live.
- Export the keyword table as CSV.
How to read the result
- The per-thread prefix shows which competitor the discussion concerns.
- The negative tag is a word heuristic — treat it as a filter for where to read first, not a verdict.
- The key phrases with volume/CPC show whether the dissatisfaction also carries search volume — that is the content opportunity.
Common errors
- Few hits: use the competitor's most common name (brand name, not full legal name).
- Zeros in the table: the DataForSEO enrichment failed — rerun.
Limitations
- No strength/weakness analysis per competitor — the tool finds the raw discussions, the analysis is yours.
- No saving or history; export before closing.
- Never cite Reddit complaints in marketing without verifying the thread yourself.
