Topical Authority Republisher — User Guide
What is Topical Authority Republisher?
Topical Authority Republisher analyzes Google Search Console data to map your topical strengths (topic clusters) and identify pages underperforming within strong clusters. The tool generates detailed republishing plans with AI so you can update existing content for faster ranking improvements.
The strategy is based on Edward Sturm's insight: republishing content in strong topical clusters delivers faster and more predictable SEO results than new content from scratch.
How to Use the Tool
Step 1: Connect to Google Search Console
- Go to Topical Authority Republisher in the tools menu
- Click Connect to GSC and authenticate with your Google account
- Select the correct property (domain) from the list
- The tool automatically fetches queries, clicks, impressions, CTR and position for the last 28 days
Step 2: Run the Analysis
- Click Analyze topical authority
- Wait while AI processes the data (typically 15-30 seconds)
- The tool will:
- Group all URLs by folders/sections
- Calculate the strength of each topic cluster
- Identify pages underperforming relative to cluster strength
- Generate republishing plans for the most important pages
Step 3: Read the Report
The report contains several sections:
Summary
- Total clusters — How many topic groups were identified
- Strong clusters — Clusters with high average position and impressions
- Underperforming pages — Pages ranking lower than expected
Topical Authority Overview
Each cluster is displayed with:
- Cluster name (based on URL folder)
- Number of pages in the cluster
- Average position, CTR and impressions
- Strength score (high/medium/low)
Underperforming Pages
Table of pages with improvement potential:
- URL
- Current position and CTR
- Expected position based on cluster strength
- Estimated improvement potential
Republishing Plans
For each underperforming page, AI generates a detailed plan:
- Title improvements — Suggested new meta title and H1
- Content gaps — Topics that are missing or need expansion
- New sections — Concrete suggestions for new content
- Internal link building — Which pages should link to/from this page
- Technical improvements — Schema markup, images, structured data
Step 4: Implement the Plans
- Click Copy on each republishing plan to copy to clipboard
- Prioritize pages with highest improvement potential
- Update content based on AI suggestions
- Republish with updated date
- Run the tool again after 2-4 weeks to measure the effect
Best Practices
- Start with strong clusters — Pages in strong topic clusters already have established authority, so improvements deliver faster results
- Update the publish date — Google rewards fresh content. Republish with a new date after significant updates
- Build internal links — Connect underperforming pages to the strongest pages in the same cluster
- Don't rewrite everything — Focus on filling content gaps and improving existing structure, not writing entirely new content
- Measure the effect — Run the tool again after 2-4 weeks to see if position and CTR have improved

Why republish instead of writing new content?
Republishing leverages existing authority, indexing and links. The effect is often visible within 2-4 weeks — much faster than new content.
