Daily Rank Tracker
Track keyword positions daily with real SERP data
What it does
Stop guessing — see exactly where your domain ranks for each keyword, every day. Daily Rank Tracker uses DataForSEO SERP API to fetch real positions from Google. See sparkline trends per keyword, find the biggest gains and losses, and get AI-powered insights on what to focus on.
You don't know where you rank — until it's too late
Without daily position tracking, you can lose important rankings without noticing. Manual checks are time-consuming and unreliable.
- Google Search Console shows data with 2-3 day delay
- Manual SERP checks don't give historical overview
- You don't see trends until position drops become critical

How it works
- Create a project: enter domain + keywords (1-50 per project)
- Run the first manual check (50 cr) to establish a baseline
- Toggle the Power button for daily auto-tracking (15 cr/day, Growth/Agency)
- Sparklines and AI insights update automatically every day
Use cases
- Solopreneurs who don't want to pay $199/month for Ahrefs
- Small agencies needing provable SEO progress for 3-5 clients
- In-house SEO teams that want to spot declines before the monthly report
- Consultants needing an evidence layer under SERP-strategy tools
Why use Daily Rank Tracker?
SEO work without daily rank tracking is roughly like driving without a speedometer. You spot declines when the monthly report arrives — two or three weeks too late to act. Daily Rank Tracker gives you the same cadence as the expensive tools (Ahrefs, Semrush) at a fraction of the price. The Growth plan includes 5,000 credits per month, covering 11 projects on daily auto-tracking or 100 manual checks — no extra subscription required.
The tool is built on real DataForSEO SERP data, not estimates. Each day the cron inserts N rows into the rank_checks table (one per keyword), giving you an immutable time-series you can use to prove SEO progress to clients, your boss, or yourself. Sparklines show movement, AI insights highlight biggest wins and "quick wins".
Tier gating means Scout and Starter users can't enable auto-tracking — a deliberate boundary that prevents cheap tier accounts from masking high usage. If you're on Starter and need tracking, upgrade to Growth or run manual checks whenever you want. The per-project toggle gives you full control: you can have 5 projects but only auto-track the 2 most important if that's what your budget allows.
FAQ
- How often can I check positions?
- You can run a check anytime. Each check costs 50 credits and checks all keywords in the project.
- How many keywords can I track?
- Up to 50 keywords per project, and up to 5 projects total.
- What data is used?
- We use DataForSEO SERP API which fetches real Google results for your target market.
- What are sparkline trends?
- Small graph visualizations showing position movement for each keyword over the last 14 days.
- Why 15 credits for auto-tracking but 50 for manual?
- Auto-tracking has no UI friction and no expectation of an immediate answer. We give a 70% discount because it happens in the background. Manual checks return results in 8 seconds and borrow from a priority queue. See ADR-040 for the full rationale.
- What happens if I run out of credits?
- The Edge Function auto-pauses the project (enabled = false). You must top up credits and click the Power button to resume auto-tracking. Manual "Check now" still works as long as you have at least 50 credits.
- Can I track Bing or DuckDuckGo?
- Not yet — Google only. Multi-engine tracking is parked for v2 pending user research.
- Why does cron fire every 6 hours when it only works once per day?
- To smooth load over the day and provide a natural retry. If one tick fails, the next one (6 hours later) picks up projects that weren't checked — without double-checking those that already ran.
- What happens if I downgrade from Growth to Starter?
- Cron returns "tier_blocked" for your projects and skips them. Projects stay enabled, so if you upgrade again, auto-tracking resumes automatically. Manual checks continue working on all tiers that have the tool.
