Topical Authority Gap Analyzer

What it does

Fetches your sitemap and a competitor's sitemap, classifies all URLs into content silos using AI, and shows exactly which topic areas you're missing coverage on — with prioritized recommendations.

You don't know which topics the competitor covers better than you

Without systematic comparison of content coverage, you're operating blind. The competitor may have dozens of articles in silos you haven't even considered, and you're losing organic traffic to topic areas you should have covered.

AI-powered comparison of content silos between you and the competitor

Topical Authority Gap Analyzer fetches both sitemaps, classifies all pages into silos using AI, and gives you a complete picture of where you're ahead, behind or missing coverage entirely — with concrete recommendations for what to produce.

Features

How it works

  1. Enter your domain and the competitor's domain
  2. The tool fetches sitemaps from both and classifies URLs into silos using AI
  3. Receive a complete gap report with coverage ratios and prioritized recommendations

Use cases

Why use Topical Authority Gap Analyzer?

Google's ranking systems reward websites with broad, deep coverage of a topic area — what's called topical authority. If the competitor has 30 articles on a topic and you have 3, it's nearly impossible to rank on the most important keywords.

Topical Authority Gap Analyzer makes it possible to see exactly where you're behind, so you can prioritize content production where it has the biggest impact. Instead of guessing which topics to write about, you get a data-driven plan.

Combine with Content Silo Planner to see the internal URL structure, or People Also Ask Analyzer to find specific questions within silos you're missing coverage on.

FAQ

What happens if the domain doesn't have a sitemap?
The tool tries /sitemap.xml, /sitemap_index.xml and /sitemap-index.xml. Without a sitemap, the analysis cannot be performed — add a sitemap to the site first.
How many pages can be analyzed?
The tool handles sitemaps with thousands of URLs. Content pages are automatically filtered, and non-content pages like admin, images and legal pages are excluded.
What does "Missing" status mean?
Missing means the competitor has articles in a silo where you have zero coverage. These are your biggest opportunities for content production.
How often should I run the analysis?
Quarterly is a good starting point. Run it more often if you're in an active publishing phase or the competitor is publishing a lot of new content.
Can I compare against multiple competitors?
Per analysis, you compare against one competitor. Run the analysis multiple times with different competitors for a broader picture.
